Position Summary

The Musician(s) is tasked with creating a Worship atmosphere that exalts the Name of Jesus, involving playing a musical instrument during Sunday Morning Worship Services and other events as required. This role demands a commitment to a life devoted to Christ and ministry through personal discipleship. The Musician(s) is expected to wholeheartedly express their devotion to the Lord through worship, consistent with Baptist and Evangelical traditions. In addition to actively contributing to the musical culture aligned with our mission, vision, and core values, the Church Musician(s) strives to be FAITHFUL in prayer and worship, fostering a FRUITFUL atmosphere marked by the Spirit's presence, cultivating a FAMILY ORIENTED environment reflective of the close bonds within our church, and infusing a sense of FUN, and joy into our musical expressions, in harmony with the joyous culture defining North Garland Baptist Fellowship.

Position Responsibilities

General Duties:

Play for all Sunday Worship Services (8AM and 11AM) and other services as deemed necessary during the week and on weekends, i.e., for funerals, weddings, or other special services.Attending regular rehearsals and practices as designated by the Worship Leader.Keep the Worship Leader informed of any instrument or equipment needs or problems and with the sound and space provided for the Musician.May be responsible for securing or recommending another Musician in case of absence.Must be punctual at all times designated by the Worship Leader and assist with the music ministry by promoting a spirit of jubilation and enthusiasm.Must be able to or responsible for the movement of all musical equipment when necessary.Must be familiar with church etiquette, accountable and work closely with the Pastor and other staff members.Other Duties:

Availability to provide musical support for special events for NGBF as needed.Availability to participate in occasional leadership meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.Education and Experience

Minimum of High School DiplomaMinimum of two years playing a musical instrument professionally preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Can proficiently play an instrument in the worship band (ex: keyboard, guitar)Must demonstrate an aptitude or the ability to play within the musical parameters of the other musiciansTeam player with good relational skills and a positive attitudeSelf-starter who strives for qualityAbility to participate in one-two hour rehearsals weeklyUnderstanding of and alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the churchNotes
