Position: Musician Resident Drummer & Guitarists Timber Lake Playhouse Mt Carroll, IL US 05/01/2026 DrummerStart/End Date: flexible start date between May 12th & May 22 – August 30th, 2026Compensation: $400/wkReports To: Artistic Director and Music DirectorResponsibilitiesPerform drum parts for rehearsals and live performances.Collaborate with the music team to maintain the integrity of the musical score.Participate in sound checks and technical rehearsals.Maintain and tune drum kit and percussion instruments.Assist the Music Director with setup, maintenance, and organization of the orchestra pit, percussion gear, and music equipment.Help with music library tasks, including assembling, distributing, and collecting books or sheet music as needed.Support the Sound Designer/A1 and A2 team by assisting with basic audio tasks such as cable runs, battery prep, wireless mic labeling, equipment resets, speaker placement and backstage audio checks.Participate in audio and band-related load-ins, changeovers, and strikes.Assist with QLab testing or light playback tasks under the supervision of the Sound team.Play for special events, concerts, community nights, talkbacks, or donor engagements as needed.Assist with AV needs and simple tech support for educational or public programming.Attend and contribute to company events, talkbacks, and meet-and-greets to represent the music department.Participate in Resident Company musical enrichment events, jam sessions, rhythm workshops, and community outreach programming.QualificationsProfessional experience as a drummer, preferably in a theatrical setting.Versatility in various musical styles and genres.Strong rhythmic and timing skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Good time management and organizational skills.Familiarity with different types of drum kits and percussion instruments.Guitarist (Godspell, Hands on a Hardbody, New Work)Start/End Date: Godspell – May 24th - June 7th, Hands on a Hardbody – August 3rd - August 16, New Work – August 17th - August 30thCompensation: $400/wkReports To: Artistic Director and Music DirectorResponsibilitiesPerform guitarist parts for rehearsals and live performances.Collaborate with the music team to maintain the integrity of the musical score.Participate in sound checks and technical rehearsals.Maintain and tune instruments.Participate in audio and band-related load-ins, changeovers, and strikes.Attend and contribute to company events, talkbacks, and meet-and-greets to represent the music department.QualificationsProfessional experience as a guitarist, preferably in a theatrical setting.Versatility in various musical styles and genres.Strong rhythmic and timing skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Good time management and organizational skills.Familiarity with different types of drum kits and percussion instruments.DURATIONMay 12, 2026 - Aug 30, 2026SALARYNON-UNIONAPPLY BY EMAILecefd4d3-e06f-4e46-9acb-… NOTE: Do not copy/paste the above email address as it is encoded with SPAM protection.
