Musician / Music Therapist (Buffalo & Western New York)

Fine Art Miracles, Inc. is looking for a talented, dependable, and engaging Musician or Music Therapist to join our team and bring live, interactive music experiences to older adults throughout the Buffalo area.

Our programs take place in senior living communities, assisted living facilities, memory care communities, and other settings serving older adults. We believe music should be more than something residents simply listen to, it should be something they can participate in, enjoy, and connect through.

What You'll Do

Lead engaging, interactive music sessions for groups of older adults
Perform familiar and well-loved songs from a variety of genres and eras
Encourage residents to sing, clap, dance, play simple instruments, and participate at their own comfort level
Adapt music and activities based on the interests, abilities, and energy of each group
Incorporate instruments, rhythm activities, percussion, sing-alongs, and other interactive elements
Create a welcoming and upbeat environment where everyone feels included
Work with residents with a variety of abilities, including individuals living with dementia and other cognitive or physical challenges
Communicate professionally with facility staff and FAM regarding scheduling and program needs
Complete brief activity notes following each session

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

A musician, music therapist, music educator, or experienced performer
Comfortable performing in front of groups
A strong vocalist and/or instrumentalist
Warm, energetic, personable, and able to connect naturally with older adults
Comfortable adapting to different group sizes, abilities, and personalities
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Comfortable working independently at different facilities
Able to provide their own reliable transportation
Experienced working with older adults, senior living, memory care, or individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required

Music Therapists (MT-BC) are encouraged to apply, but a music therapy credential is not required for this role. We're also interested in talented musicians who have a genuine passion for working with older adults and creating meaningful, interactive experiences through music.

Schedule & Compensation

This is a part-time, flexible position, with opportunities varying based on your availability and our facility schedule.

Most sessions take place during weekday daytime hours, with recurring opportunities available as our Buffalo-area client base grows.
