MUSICIANS

Reports to: Pastor or Director of Music The Musician/ Cantor will be responsible for performing music at various parish services, including Sunday Vigil Mass and may be contracted to perform at weddings, funerals and other liturgical events as necessary. High School degree or equivalentAbility to sing with accurate pitch and rhythmAbility to play various instruments (Piano/ Organ/ Guitar preferred)Basic understanding of Music TheoryStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff and managementPreferred Additional Bachelor’s degree in Music, Liturgy and/ or 2 prior years’ experience Previous experience/ knowledge of Roman Catholic Liturgy including Lectionary and SacramentaryBilingual (English/ Spanish) preferredThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties or working conditions associated with the job.
