Gospel Unplugged New York is seeking experienced keyboardists, saxophonists, bass guitarists, drummers, violinists, and vocalists to join our growing GUNY Connect network. GUNY Connect is a network of musicians and vocalists that allows Gospel Unplugged New York to connect with talented individuals for future events, performances, collaborations, and other gospel-related opportunities throughout the year. Members may be contacted when opportunities become available based on their instrument, experience, availability, and the needs of each event.
Requirements
Must be 18 or older.
Experience performing in a church or Christian setting is strongly recommended.
Must have access to your own instrument. Instruments will not be provided.
Musicians must have their own in-ear monitors (IEMs) or be able to obtain them by May 1, 2027.
Must be able to travel to the event venue. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
Must have an active Instagram account and provide your Instagram handle.
Must answer all required application questions.
Must have an active email account that you regularly monitor.
Must be willing to download and use Slack on your phone for communication.
Must be able to accept all payments through PayPal.
Must be professional, punctual, and prepared.
Must be available for the required event schedule.
Interview Process
Candidates must complete one virtual interview and one in-person interview to be considered.
Both interviews are approximately 15 minutes. Candidates will be asked questions about their musical experience and will have an opportunity to perform.
Musicians
Musicians must perform one Christian song for approximately 90 seconds on their selected instrument.
Vocalists
Vocalists must perform one Christian song for at least three minutes.
Virtual Interview Requirements
Please join 5–10 minutes early to test your audio, video, internet connection, and performance setup.
There is a five-minute grace period for late arrival.
If you arrive more than five minutes late, you may reschedule through Indeed.
If you experience technical difficulties during the interview, you will have five minutes to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved within five minutes, you may reschedule through Indeed.
In-Person Interview
Candidates selected to move forward to the in-person interview will receive an invitation by email within 7 business days if they are being considered.
Candidates are permitted one rescheduled interview.
If you do not attend your scheduled interview, you will not be permitted to reschedule and will no longer be considered.
