Company Description Groove Family Music is a 21 year old community-focused music program dedicated to fostering a love of music in young children (from birth to age 3) and their families. Classes emphasize creativity, connection, and confidence-building in a warm, inclusive environment. Day-to-day tasks include singing and playing instruments, guiding movement and rhythm activities, introducing simple musical concepts, and creating an inviting and energetic classroom atmosphere. Musicians prepare materials, set up and break down class spaces, and ensure that activities are safe, age-appropriate, and inclusive. Strong musical ability, including confident singing and proficiency on at least one accompanying instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard, ukulele, or percussion).Experience working with young children (infant to preschool age) in group or classroom settings, with an understanding of early childhood development.Clear, warm communication skills and the ability to engage both children and adults in a group environment.Comfort leading groups, giving instructions, and maintaining a positive, energetic presence throughout multiple classes.Reliable time management and organizational skills, including punctuality, class preparation, and attention to safety and cleanliness.Collaborative mindset and willingness to follow program curricula while contributing creative ideas and adapting to different learning styles.Ability to stand, move, and actively participate in music and movement activities for extended periods.Availability for part-time, on-site work in Larchmont, NY; prior teaching, theater, or performance experience is a plus.
