Musician/Worship Leader

Gray's Temple C.M.E. Church is seeking a passionate and talented Musician/Worship Leader to lead weekly worship services and inspire both the choir and congregation through music. The ideal candidate is an experienced pianist with a heart for worship, strong leadership skills and a commitment to creating meaningful, Christ-centered worship experiences within the Christian Methodist Episcopal (C.M.E.) tradition. Pay is $250.00 - $285.00 per Sunday.

This position plays a vital role in fostering an atmosphere of worship that encourages congregational participation, spiritual growth and excellence in music ministry.

Responsibilities

Provide piano accompaniment and lead music during weekly Sunday worship services.
Plan, develop and rehearse musical selections that compliment the worship them and sermon.
Lead and direct the choir and praise team with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Conduct rehearsals.

mentor and encourage musicians and vocalists in both music development and spiritual growth.

Skills

Proficiency in playing the piano is required.
Must be able to read music and to be able to play by ear.
Previous experience as a church musician, worship leader or choir director is preferred.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to teach, mentor and work effectively with volunteers and choir members.
A personal commitment to Christian worship and ministry.
Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and ministry teams.

Pay: $250.00 - $285.00 per week
