One-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Music History

### Description

The Colby College Department of Music invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in music history for the 2027-28 academic year. The successful candidate will join a small, active, and highly collaborative department and will have a teaching load of four courses that will entail an Introduction to Music course; a writing-intensive course for first-year students on a topic of the candidate's choosing; and two music history electives relevant to the candidate’s expertise. All courses will need to be suitable for both majors and non-majors.

### Qualifications

The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their teaching and research, will contribute to access and belonging within the campus community. Candidates who have completed the PhD or are ABD at the time of appointment are preferred.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,700 to $69,700, commensurate with rank, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
