Orchestra Director

The Music Director will lead the Minnetonka Chamber Orchestra (MCO) to provide an enjoyable, educational, and artistically solid musical experience for its members and audience through rehearsals and performances. The members of this non-audition orchestra are volunteers with a diverse range of musical abilities. Work with the MCO Advisory Committee and MAM Board to plan engaging performances that expose the community to a variety of genres of music and instrumentation. • Select and prepare music for performances • Selected pieces should be appropriate for a diverse range of musical abilities, and enjoyable for our audiences. • Partner with the MCO Advisory Committee and the Music Association of Minnetonka (MAM) Board as needed: • Work with the advisory committee to select concert dates and venues for the season • Attend advisory committee meetings (~monthly), • Collaborate & partner with other MAM ensembles • Set clear expectations of musicians • Promote MCO concerts and performances and support other MAM performances • Assist with securing paid musicians if needed for performances • Positively represent MCO and MAM in the community and support recruitment of new orchestra members as needed.
