Organist/ Choir Director

Position Overview • Part-time position • Salary commensurate with experience • Seeking a professional While the candidate is not required to be a practicing Roman Catholic, familiarity with the Roman Catholic service and liturgical traditions is important. Primary Responsibilities Liturgical Music • Play organ/piano for all weekend Masses: • Saturday: 4:30 PM • Sunday: 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM • Play for all Holy Days of Obligation • Play for weddings and funerals *separate remuneration as set by agreement between musician and pastor • Coordinate music for special liturgical services as needed • Recruit members of the congregation for: • Adult choir • Children’s choir • Re-establish choirs to participate in one weekly service (September-June) • Determine and schedule choir rehearsal times, as needed • Plan the music program+ select the choral music for the liturgical • Rehearse/prepare the choir for the planned Planning & Collaboration • Attend Liturgy Committee meetings* 1 hour 1x a month • Participate in discussions related to: • Liturgy planning • Pageants, Plays • Special parish events Facilities & Instruments • Church organ: • Currently a 2-manual Allen organ • Scheduled to be replaced with a larger instrument *soon*!
