Summary of Position This is a salaried position with 10-12 average weekly hours. Skills & Qualifications - Proficiency in the organ and piano and familiarity with other instruments - Experience in leading, teaching and motivating volunteer choir(s) - Ability to perform and lead various styles of music - Prefer experience accompanying and planning for liturgical worship in the Episcopalian/Anglican tradition or familiarity with our liturgical style - Handbell choir experience helpful - A degree (BA or higher) in music or equivalent experience or training - Collaborate creatively with the Priest-in-Charge/Rector in choosing music for worship services - The Organist/Choir Director reports to and meets with the Priest-in-Charge/Rector in regularly scheduled meetings and attends any music or worship committee meetings and other meetings as requested - Works with church musicians and musicians engaged for special services or events in an encouraging and inspiring leadership style - Maintains a positive, flexible, welcoming, and professional attitude grounded in inclusive Christian ministry with choir, musicians, staff, parishioners and visitors
