JOB TITLE: Organist/Pianist and Accompanist They shall encourage congregational singing, support sung liturgy parts, accompany choir, praise band, and soloists, and practice appropriately to provide a high quality of music. In addition, the musician is also expected to play for weddings and funerals (as their schedule allows) and will be compensated with an appropriate honorarium. • The musician leads the musical portions of the Sunday morning worship by providing prelude and postlude music, which is appropriate to the season and theme of individual worship services, and a music offering, if not provided by a soloist or ensemble. The accompanist may be asked to attend extra rehearsals as needed.
