# Part-Time Director of MusicSeptember 30, 2026Part-Time Director of Music — Centenary United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, KY Centenary United Methodist Church is seeking a passionate, skilled Director of Music to lead our choir and congregation in worship through music. This part-time role (approximately 15–20 hours/week, varying with the church calendar) is a wonderful fit for a gifted musician looking for meaningful, flexible church work. What you'll do: • Lead weekly choir rehearsals and direct music for all worship services • Play piano (organ, guitar, or other instruments a plus) • Select and prepare music/lyrics for musicians and the AV team each week • Help lead special services (Christmas Eve, Holy Week, Easter) • Grow and nurture music ministry across all ages, including a children's choir • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor on the vision for worship What we're looking for: • Strong piano skills; ability to play organ, guitar, or other instruments a plus • Proven experience directing a choir or vocal ensemble • Comfort with both traditional and contemporary worship styles • Willingness to work within United Methodist doctrine and polity • Excellent communication skills and a heart for ministry To apply: Please send a resume and two to three references to church at [email protected] or 429 Main Street, Shelbyville KY 40065.
