Part-time Drumline Teacher

Young Musicians Unite (YMU) is on a mission to provide free, high-quality music education to every student in Miami-Dade, regardless of socio-economic background. Key Responsibilities • Teach rudiments, cadences, and percussion ensemble routines • Deliver lessons aligned with YMU’s Drumline curriculum • Coach students in marching fundamentals and performance technique • Develop routines for school assemblies, parades, and showcases • Maintain percussion equipment and coordinate instrument use • Manage and track student progress and participation • Encourage leadership, teamwork, and discipline through drumming • Track student progress and submit participation reports Qualifications • Experience leading drumline, marching band, or percussion ensembles • Strong skills in snare, tenor, bass drum, and auxiliary percussion • Ability to manage student groups with energy and discipline • Background working with middle and high school students • Commitment to using rhythm as a tool for personal growth and teamwork Work Schedule & Pay: • Classes typically run in 90-minute blocks during the school day or after school.
