Purpose: To provide organ and piano music for worship services, choir(s), special music, and other church functions... Supervision: The organist serves under supervision of the Director of Music. • Accompany choir(s) and special music during and in preparation for worship. • Offer recommendations regarding music and service continuity when requested by the pastor and/or music director. Education, Skills, and Abilities: • Display a professional level of musical talent from training and experience • Instill enthusiasm for those singing • Sight-read choir music during rehearsal • Have a working knowledge of the congregation’s worship services and a theological understanding of church music • Be able to communicate well and in a friendly manner with staff, worship and music leaders, and members of the congregation • Additional Opportunities: Provide organ or piano music for weddings and funerals as your schedule allows.
