Position Overview The Southern Connecticut State University Music Department is seeking a Director for the Pep Band, a collaborative ensemble between music and athletics. Key Responsibilities • Recruit students to play in the Pep Band • Direct weekly rehearsals during the basketball season (September-March) • Lead performances at home basketball games • Collaborate with department staff on logistical and musical needs Required Qualifications • Undergraduate degree in Music or related field • Experience playing or directing ensembles • Effective communication skills for various formats • Promotional ability as the public face of the Pep Band Desirable Qualifications • Master's degree in conducting or related field • 3+ years' experience directing pep bands or similar ensembles • College-level music education experience, including program development
