What You’ll Do
As a Music Instructor, your role is to deliver engaging, structured lessons that help students progress musically while building lasting relationships with families.
Instruction & Student Development
Provide high-quality private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
Develop lesson plans tailored to each student’s goals, experience, and pace of learning
Teach technique, musicality, and repertoire appropriate to each student
Track student progress and celebrate milestones
Encourage consistent practice habits and musical curiosity
Student & Family Experience
Create a welcoming, encouraging environment that makes students excited to return each week
Communicate clearly with parents about student progress, goals, and recommendations
Maintain a professional, supportive presence in the studio before and after lessons
Help students prepare for recitals, performances, or personal musical goals
Represent Gramercy Music Academy with warmth and professionalism
Professionalism & Preparation
Arrive prepared and on time for all lessons
Maintain a clean, organized teaching environment
Provide notes or guidance to students on what to practice between lessons
Communicate schedule updates or student concerns with the Center Director
Participate in occasional recitals, events, or academy initiatives

Help students progress musically while building confidence
Maintain consistent student retention through quality instruction and communication

What You Bring
You care deeply about teaching music and helping students grow.
You likely have:
Experience teaching private lessons or working with young musicians
Strong proficiency on your primary instrument
The ability to work with students across multiple age groups and ability levels
Clear communication skills with both children and parents
Reliability, preparation, and professionalism
A passion for making music education engaging and meaningful
A degree in music or formal training is helpful, but excellent teachers come from many musical paths.
