School of Rock is the original performance-based, interactive music school founded in 1998 in Philadelphia. The School of Rock Music Instructor teaches students from ACDC to Zappa. The Instructor creates a safe and cool environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey. Job Tasks • Teach quality individual lessons for beginner students up to intermediate and advanced level music students • Most students will be ages 7-18 who are beginner and intermediate level • Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using School of Rock’s patented music curriculum • Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music while they work on material for School of Rock performance programs • Assist during band rehearsals on an as-needed basis • Pitch in during downtime in the overall execution of School of Rock programming • Encourage and reinforce the community aspect of School of Rock • Customer Connection • Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons • interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school • Basic maintenance in school (maintain a lesson room, ensure music equipment is accessible, assist with tasks around the building if necessary, etc.) It is the policy of the School of Rock to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
