Role Description The Piano/Voice Instructor will provide in-person lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels at an on-site location in Brooklyn, NY. This part-time role involves planning and delivering individualized piano and voice lessons, introducing and reinforcing music theory concepts, and guiding students through appropriate repertoire and technique. The instructor will assess each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, and create lesson plans that foster steady progress and enjoyment of music. Responsibilities include preparing students for recitals, auditions, and other performance opportunities, tracking their development, and communicating with families about progress and practice expectations. The instructor is expected to maintain a professional, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment aligned with Music To Your Home’s standards of excellence.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Music Theory and Music Education, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners at different levels.Experience in Vocal Coaching and Vocal Instruction, including technique, breath support, and healthy vocal habits.Ability to design and deliver effective Voice Lessons that address pitch, tone, diction, and expressive performance.Proficiency in piano performance and instruction, including reading music, technique, and age-appropriate repertoire (additional instruments a plus).Degree in Music, Music Education, Vocal Performance, Piano Performance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.Prior teaching experience with children and adults, with a patient, supportive, and gender-neutral approach to learning.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with families and adapt teaching styles to individual needs.Reliable availability for part-time, on-site lessons in Brooklyn, NY, and commitment to punctuality and professional conduct.
