Hours of Work: After school hours Compensation: $4,540.00 - Per Perry Classroom Teachers Association negotiated agreementJob Summary Perry High School is seeking a passionate, organized, and creative individual to serve as the Fall Play/Musical Director. This supplemental position leads and manages all aspects of the school's theater program, including productions, student development, and collaboration with staff and the community. The ideal candidate will inspire student engagement, foster artistic growth, and uphold a high standard of performance and professionalism.Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and direct all theatrical productions (e.g., fall play, spring musical)Select appropriate scripts and secure performance rightsLead auditions, casting, and rehearsals while promoting an inclusive environmentOversee all production elements, including set design, costumes, lighting, sound, and stage managementCollaborate with school staff, volunteers, and community members to support productionsManage the theater budget, including fundraising efforts if neededSupervise and mentor students in both performance and technical theater rolesEnsure compliance with school policies and safety regulationsCoordinate performance schedules, publicity, and ticket salesAttend meetings and communicate regularly with administration and stakeholdersQualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:Previous experience directing theater productions, preferably at the high school or community levelStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsKnowledge of stage production, including technical theater componentsAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsTeaching certification is preferred but not required (based on district guidelines)Preferred Qualifications Music Background PreferredApplication ProcessInternal Candidates: Apply online via the Perry Local Schools website ry-lake.org, Section “Job Opportunities” – “Internal Candidates”.
