Music is a central pillar of Waldorf education, and this role offers the opportunity to awaken students’ enthusiasm for music while guiding them to understand, appreciate, and perform within a rich, holistic curriculum. Through singing, movement, rhythm, ear training, and classroom instrument instruction, you will nurture each child’s musical capacities in an engaging and age-appropriate way. This position also involves active participation in faculty meetings, professional development, and the ongoing life of the school, which includes coordinating performances at seasonal festivals and assemblies. We are looking for a candidate with strong singing skills and proficiency in teaching and playing classroom instruments, including the recorder and the piano. Preferred qualifications include a degree in music education, experience with the Orff-Schulwerk approach, prior elementary or middle school teaching experience, and a commitment to Waldorf pedagogy (or a willingness to grow into it).
