We are seeking a passionate and energetic Private Lessons Orchestral String Instructor specializing in teaching violin, cello, and viola to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. We are looking for a teacher who will be available for in-person lessons between the hours of 3pm and 8pm Mondays through Thursdays. This part-time, contract position can also be expanded to include additional days/times of day, or as desired and agreed.

We are seeking a qualified professional to add to our private lesson teaching team.

Duties

Design and implement customized lesson plans for any new students that align with students’ goals, skill levels, and learning styles in violin, cello, or viola; and continue and expand upon lesson plans already in place for existing enrolled students.Deliver engaging private lessons to students of diverse ages, including children, teens, and adults, fostering their musical development.Develop comprehensive curricula that incorporate music reading, music theory, technical exercises, repertoire selection, and performance preparation.Manage private studio dynamics effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence.Provide constructive feedback to help students improve music reading, music theory, technique, intonation, rhythm, and musical expression.Help student prepare for our Spring & Winter solo recitals to showcase their progress and build performance confidence.Collaborate with parents or guardians for younger students to ensure consistent progress and address individual needs.Collaborate with our scheduling team regarding your availability, including options for additional subbing opportunities.Requirements

Proven experience in teaching orchestral strings such as violin, cello or viola with a strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning. *If you also are able to teach other instruments, please include this information on your resume: For example, beginner piano, voice, band instruments, guitar, etc.Demonstrated management skills to maintain an organized and motivating learning environment.Experience working with children, early childhood education background preferred; familiarity with special education needs is a plus.Ability to teach adult learners with patience and clarity; experience in adult education is desirable.Strong communication skills for working with students of all ages and their families; experience in settings with young children is advantageous.Passion for music education combined with a flexible approach to adapt lessons for different learning styles.
