Musician Makers is an in-home private music lesson company serving Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, and the surrounding areas. We work with about 280 families and 20+ instructors, and we're hiring now for piano, guitar, drums, voice, bass, and ukulele.
Pay
$24 per 30-minute lesson — $48 for an hour of teaching time Paid every two weeks by direct deposit. No invoicing, no chasing payments. Gas covered on days you're scheduled for a single lesson Our admin team builds your route so lessons sit close together — that's what keeps your real hourly rate high
You set your own schedule
You tell us your available days and windows, and we only book inside them. Two afternoons a week is a completely normal schedule here. You approve every student before it goes on your calendar — instrument, location, and time You choose your load. Some instructors teach 4 lessons a week, some teach 25. If your life changes, tell us and we adjust.
Most of our longest-tenured instructors teach two or three afternoons a week alongside another job, a degree, or a performing career.
What you'll do
Travel to students' homes for weekly 30- or 60-minute private lessons Teach mostly beginner and intermediate students — kids, teens, and some adults Choose method books and material for each student (we order what you need) Leave short weekly notes so parents can see progress
What we need
Strong playing on at least one instrument, and the ability to teach a beginner clearly Reliable car, valid license, and insurance — this role is entirely travel-based Dependability. Showing up on time every week matters more here than anything else. Ability to pass a background check
Nice to have: prior teaching experience, though several of our best instructors started with none.
What we handle
We find and enroll your students, handle all billing and payment collection so you never discuss money with a family, manage scheduling and cancellations, and back you up with lesson planning support and materials.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, part-time and ongoing, primarily weekday afternoons and evenings.
