Love performing and want consistent, well-paid daytime work as a musician?

Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band is seeking a professional guitarist/singer to lead high-energy music classes, concerts and events for young children and their families.

This is not a traditional teaching job. It’s a performance-based role. Think front-person energy, strong rhythm guitar and real crowd engagement.

You’ll perform for babies, toddlers and preschoolers alongside their parents and caregivers. It’s incredibly fun and rewarding, and for many of our bandleaders, this work has helped make a full-time career in music possible.

Location:

We’re primarily hiring for NYC, but we also serve Brooklyn, Westchester, Rockland, CT, NJ, and Long Island so please still apply if you live in any of those areas!. We perform throughout the Tri-State area.

About the Role

Lead 45-minute, high-energy music classes and birthday parties
Perform for children ages 0–4 with caregivers present
Blend classic kids songs with family-friendly rock and pop
Daytime hours only
Consistent weekly class schedule available
Weekend birthday work is flexible. Accept or decline bookings based on your availability. We currently have significant weekend work available.
This job can be either full time or part time.

We’re a team of full-time musicians. This role is designed to support your creative life outside the job.

Compensation

$60–$135/hour depending on the assignment
$1,000+/week possible after training and building a regular schedule
All daytime work, so evenings remain free for gigs, rehearsals and your own projects

What We’re Looking For

Required:

In order to apply, I must see you play guitar/while singing. See detailed instructions in the screening questions please.
Strong guitar skills: tight rhythm, confident strumming and strong command of barre chords and the fretboard
Clear, strong lead vocals
Significant live performance experience (non-negotiable)
Charismatic, engaging stage presence
Reliable, punctual and professional
Comfortable working with young children. Prior experience is a plus, but not required. We will train the right musician.

Teaching or early childhood experience
This is a guitar position, but if you play piano or drums too, we might have additional work for you.

Qualified applicants will be contacted quickly to schedule an audition.

Thanks,

Dan
