Flutist/Violinist - Indian and Arabic Specialist Surya Sound Temple seeks a talented and versatile musician to join our creative team as a flutist and/or violinist specializing in Indian and Arabic musical styles. The ideal candidate will contribute to the production of original music that blends traditional Eastern sounds with contemporary elements. Key Responsibilities: • Perform and record flute and/or violin parts for original compositions • Collaborate with producers and other musicians to create unique soundscapes • Improvise and compose melodies in Indian and Arabic styles • Provide cultural and technical expertise on Eastern musical traditions • Participate in live performances and studio recording sessions Required Qualifications: • Mastery of flute and/or violin, with a focus on Indian and/or Arabic techniques • Deep understanding of Indian ragas and Arabic maqams • Proficiency in playing bamboo flute (bansuri) or ney flute is highly desirable • Familiarity with microtonal scales and ornamentations specific to Eastern music • Ability to read Western notation and improvise in various styles • Strong ear for melody and harmony • Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with other world music traditions • Knowledge of music production software and recording techniques • Background in composing or arranging music • Flexibility to work with both traditional and modern musical contexts www.suryasoundtemple.org
