Position Details Notice of Faculty Vacancy Professional Musician - Guitar Instructor (Part-Time) Indiana State University - School of Music Start Date: 8/1/2026 Salary: Hourly wage Qualifications Master's degree in Guitar Performance or a related music field required Demonstrated success in teaching guitar at the collegiate level Strong performance credentials Commitment to fostering success in a student population with many first-generation college students Responsibilities The successful candidate will play an active and visible role in the artistic and educational life of the Indiana State University School of Music. Responsibilities include: Teaching applied guitar lessons to a diverse population of undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-majors Teach students in both classical and jazz idioms Teaching additional courses based on the candidate's strengths and departmental needs Contributing to recruitment efforts through audition adjudication, school outreach, and participation in key events such as Contemporary Music Festival, Music Career Day, All-Star Honor Band, and ISU Jazz Festival Performing regularly with the Indiana State University School of Music faculty, including on-campus recitals and regional recruitment performances Application Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
