Program Director for Independent Artists

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Program Director for Independent Artist Services within the Maryland Department of Commerce. This position involves creating, planning, and executing all aspects of assigned programs, including determining eligibility of artists and applications, managing the entire grants process, processing funding recommendations, and overseeing grantee compliance with policies and procedures. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently and with a team, and skills to handle multiple, concurrent, and high-priority projects. Responsibilities: • Create, plan, and execute all aspects of assigned programs • Determine eligibility of artists and applications • Manage the entire grants process • Process funding recommendations • Oversee grantee compliance with policies and procedures Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate • Four years of administrative staff or professional work in a professional setting
