OPC’s ethos centers the development of a music education teaching and learning environment grounded in social justice, creating avenues to music education for under-resourced and underserved populations of Oakland. The Oakland Public Conservatory of Music (OPC) is dedicated to providing musical education grounded in the African American experience, with an understanding of its role in the development of American music and culture. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Program Manager is responsible for the operational success of OPC’s programs, ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, quality control and evaluation. Working with the Office/ Events Manager, the Program Manager coordinates quarterly performances and manages all social media.
