Required Skills and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a doctorate degree and demonstrate superb musicianship, teaching skills, and research abilities. You should also have a strong record of or show potential for systematic research, and evidence of successful teaching at the college level and in primary or secondary schools. A particular interest in string pedagogy, the psychology of learning, and the musical development of children and adults is highly desirable.
