The Resident Advisor will help supervise and provide support for AMF participants during their stay at Colby. In addition, the festival provides housing and meals. Responsibilities • Track the daily schedules of pre-college-aged musicians, providing guidance and support as they develop independence on Colby’s campus • Plan and execute age-appropriate events and activities during their free time in the evenings and on weekends • Maintain a safe and secure environment for youth in the college dormitories, provide care and vigilance after hours, and enforce a strict curfew • Communicate with AMF staff about participant needs and keep them informed throughout the festival about any special circumstances or issues that affect the students • Notify AMF staff and campus security about emergency situations and critical incidents involving students related to health, safety, and security issues • Schedule and attend meals in the college dining hall with all young musicians • Attend weekly staff meetings to review and discuss participant concerns and activities Qualifications • Available for the full duration of the festival including staff training (June 18 - Aug 5) • A bachelor’s degree, a minimum of one year of college, or equivalent experience preferred • Experience in childcare or young adult care fields a plus • Excellent written and oral communication and critical thinking skills • Experience managing overnight youth programing or overnight camps preferred • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in groups • Proven organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail • Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision and adjust to new projects as assigned • Musical training is a plus Benefits • Compensation is commensurate with experience ($2,500 - $4,000 per month) • Housing and meals provided during the festival season
