CD Baby, a Downtown Music company, is seeking a temporary Royalty Administration Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will play an essential part in the operations of the Royalty Administration Technology Team (RATT).

The ideal candidate will engage in all aspects of processing royalty reports from over 50 third-party retailers regularly. You will efficiently manage a queue of time-sensitive work, reformatting data into required formats, investigating and resolving data anomalies, and ensuring accurate audits. This remote role is open to candidates based in Portland, and hybrid for those in Los Angeles.

What You'll Do:

Receive and process monthly and quarterly sales reports from 50+ third-party digital retail partners.Format and prepare reports for the earnings system (including currency conversions, rate calculations, and data cleanup).Import and match sales data (automatic and manual), review for accuracy, and ensure posting to client accounts.Manage accounts receivable and partner relationships; follow up on reports, payments, and resolve discrepancies.Track incoming payments (via wire/check/PayPal) to ensure proper account funding.Maintain reporting and A/R tracking spreadsheets; oversee quality control of imported sales data.Supervise and delegate tasks to the Digital Accounting Assistant, including matching and audit processes.Collaborate with Accounting and Data teams to enhance reporting efficiency and systems.Communicate reporting updates to Customer Service and respond to client inquiries in a professional manner.Review digital partner contracts to ensure accurate payment calculations and compliance.Invoice partners for encoding fees and follow up on outstanding balances.Utilize SSMS, SSIS, MapForce, and custom in-house utilities.Support special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned.Who You Are:

2+ years of professional experience, with a strong understanding of Royalty Accounting and Accounting/Finance.Proficiency in data manipulation, including strong SQL querying skills and advanced expertise in spreadsheets.Possess a strong analytical mindset and high proficiency in Excel.Pays close attention to detail, is naturally curious, and enjoys solving complex puzzles.Skilled in communication (both verbal and written), and maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with colleagues and clients.Exemplary organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a team-oriented spirit.Enthusiastic about working in a vibrant and creative industry such as music!Why You Want to Work Here:

The pay rate for this contract position is $28 - $33/hr, contingent upon various factors such as work experience, geographic location, and relevant skills.
