Sacred Music Leader

The Director of Sacred Music is responsible for overseeing all aspects of liturgical music at our parish. This role requires a deep understanding of Roman Catholic liturgy and the ability to manage a team of musicians. Key Responsibilities • Plan and implement a comprehensive sacred music program in collaboration with the Pastor or his delegate • Coordinate the selection of music for all parish and school liturgies, including Ordinaries, Propers, hymns, polyphony, and choral pieces • Prepare and distribute sheet music and worship aids to participants (cantors, instrumentalists, choir members, and congregation) • Recruit, schedule, rehearse, and supervise cantors, choirs, and instrumentalists for all liturgies • Supervise and maintain the parish's musical resources, spaces, and instruments Qualifications • B.A. or M.A. in music, choral conducting, music education, or equivalent training at a music conservatory • Skilled and experienced pianist; organ proficiency preferred • Skilled and experienced singer • Skilled and experienced conductor, preferably in a parish setting • Knowledge of and experience with Gregorian Chant, choral music, and polyphony a plus but not required
