Saxophone Instructor- K-12 Enrichment Opportunities

Concorde Education New York, New York $100,000–$200,000 a year

**Location:** On-site at partner schools or community locations (varies by assignment)
**Schedule:** Typically 1–4 instructional hours per week, primarily after school
**Program Length:** Approximately 8–10 weeks per assignment
**Start Date:** Rolling opportunities based on school partner schedules
**Compensation:** Starting at $50+ per instructional hour, with rates varying based on the assignment, instructor qualifications, experience, location, scheduling needs, and other program-related factors. Most assignments fall between $50–$65 per instructional hour.

#### ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide engaging enrichment programs that inspire creativity, confidence, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic **Saxophone Instructors** who are interested in providing instructional services for instrumental music programs serving elementary, middle, and high school students.

This posting is intended to identify qualified professionals who may be considered for future independent contractor instructional assignments as opportunities become available.

#### ASSIGNMENT SCOPE

Depending on the specific program, Saxophone Instructors may provide instruction in areas such as:

Alto, tenor, soprano, and/or baritone saxophone

Proper embouchure, breathing, posture, and tone production

Fingering and fundamental playing techniques

Music reading, rhythm, scales, and basic music theory

Individual and small-group instrumental instruction

Ensemble playing and musicianship

Improvisation and introductory jazz concepts

Age-appropriate repertoire across a variety of musical styles

Performance preparation and stage presence

Instrument care and proper practice techniques

Specific curriculum, grade levels, program goals, schedules, and instructional expectations will vary by assignment.

#### IDEAL BACKGROUND

Potential instructors may have experience as a:

Saxophone instructor

Woodwind instructor

Band or instrumental music teacher

Music educator

Private music teacher

Professional or working saxophonist with teaching experience

Teaching artist or enrichment instructor

College-level music student or graduate with relevant instructional experience

Experience working with K–12 students in a school, after-school program, music school, camp, community organization, private lesson, or youth ensemble setting is strongly preferred.

Formal teaching certification is **not required** unless specifically stated for an individual assignment.

The ability to clearly demonstrate and explain instrumental techniques

The availability, duration, schedule, and scope of assignments vary according to the needs of Concorde Education's school and community partners.
