About the Position

Strait Music Company is seeking a School of Music Attendant to staff the front desk at the Strait School of Music, located in Southwest Austin (3201 Bee Caves Rd, Austin, TX 78746).

This role is the heartbeat of our music school. As the first point of contact for students, parents, and teachers, the School of Music Attendant sets the tone for every visit. We’re looking for a friendly, detail-oriented, and highly task-driven individual who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Greet students, families, and guests in a warm and professional manner
Sell, schedule, and manage private music lessons
Serve as a primary point of communication for students, parents, and instructors
Maintain accurate records and handle daily administrative tasks with attention to detail
Support instructors with scheduling needs and general school logistics
Assist with general upkeep and organization of the school facilities
Help ensure the front desk and common areas are welcoming, organized, and presentable
Provide outstanding customer service while managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Schedule & Position Details

This is a part-time position with the following set schedule:

Mondays: 2:00 PM – 8:15 PM
Tuesdays: 2:00PM – 8:15PM
Wednesdays: 2:00 – 8:15PM

This role is ideal for college or graduate students, working musicians, or individuals seeking consistent part-time hours.

Requirements

Experience in retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing role
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Friendly, professional, and confident communication skills
Comfort working with families, children, and instructors
Reliability and punctuality are essential

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in music or experience in a music-related environment
Experience with scheduling, point-of-sale systems, or administrative support
Ability to remain calm and positive in a busy environment
