The Rhode Island Philharmonic is inviting highly qualified musicians to audition for a non-rotating Section Viola position. The audition is scheduled for September 14, 2026, and interested candidates must submit a one-page PDF résumé by 5 PM on August 21, 2026. The orchestra operates on a per-service basis, with approximately 70 services available in the 2026-2027 season. If a member of the orchestra wins the audition, their chair may be offered to the runner-up.Candidates will be informed of their audition times by September 9, 2026. The audition will take place at the Carter Center located at 667 Waterman Ave., East Providence, RI 02914. It is important to note that employment offers are contingent upon candidates providing proof of their ability to work in the United States.
