Interested applicants must submit an audition application by December 1, 2026, to be considered for an invitation to audition. The preliminary and semifinal rounds are scheduled for February 8-9, 2027, with final rounds on February 20, 2027. The audition repertoire will be available soon.The Houston Symphony operates on a 52-week season, which includes 9 weeks of paid vacation. The minimum annual salary for permanent musicians for the 2025-26 contract year is $113,360. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, instrument insurance, disability insurance, and pension contributions to the AFM-EPF.Candidates who successfully audition for the Houston Symphony will be placed on the substitute pool list for potential engagements.
