Senior Music Producer

Our client is seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Music Producer to oversee and contribute to the creation of high-quality audio content. This role requires a deep understanding of music theory, composition, arrangement, and production techniques across various genres. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to guide artists, manage recording sessions, and deliver polished final products that meet artistic and commercial standards. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for flexibility while maintaining essential in-person collaboration.

The Senior Music Producer will be responsible for managing the entire music production process, from initial concept development and artist collaboration to final mixing and mastering. You will work closely with artists, songwriters, engineers, and other creative professionals to realize their musical vision. Your expertise in leveraging a wide range of audio software and hardware, combined with your artistic sensibility, will be crucial in shaping exceptional musical outcomes. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for artistic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of music production projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Collaborate with artists and songwriters to develop musical concepts, arrangements, and sonic direction. Lead and guide recording sessions, providing creative input and technical direction to musicians and engineers. Utilize advanced Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live) for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. Develop and implement creative production strategies to enhance the artistic quality and marketability of musical works. Ensure high-quality audio capture, mixing, and mastering techniques are employed throughout the production process. Work with engineers to achieve desired sonic characteristics and balance within musical arrangements. Scout and engage talented musicians, vocalists, and session players as needed. Provide constructive feedback to artists and collaborators to foster artistic growth and achieve optimal results. Stay current with music production trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Manage the acquisition and organization of music production assets, samples, and software licenses. Liaise with other creative teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of musical output with broader project goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Music Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in music production, with a strong portfolio of diverse projects. Extensive knowledge of music theory, composition, arrangement, and instrumentation. Expert proficiency in major DAWs and audio editing software. Proven experience in mixing and mastering techniques for various music genres. Exceptional understanding of acoustics, microphone techniques, and sound engineering principles. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide artists. Excellent organizational and project management abilities. Creative vision and a keen ear for musical detail. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing remote and in-person collaborations. A strong network within the music industry is a plus.
