Senior Underwriter, Music Royalties Job at beatBread in Los Angeles

This person will oversee a team responsible for underwriting music royalty deals, performing detailed financial analyses and conducting due diligence on artist, label and writers' revenues, splits, rights and contractual relationships. This role will be directly responsible for final review and approval for each potential deal ensuring high standards of accuracy and maintaining and improving beatBread's underwriting processes in collaboration with its sales, technology, operations and product teams. The role requires the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Stay on top of industry news that may impact royalty payments or valuations Identify anomalies or inconsistencies in royalty and streaming data, investigate root cause, and work across teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues and understand the "why" behind the data Flag risks associated with given patterns of streaming and revenue statements, along with review of agreements and royalty statements, with the assistance of beatBread's risk assessment tools Present underwriting findings and valuation reports to internal stakeholders and clients Partner with and coach sales team members to thoroughly assess the underlying context of each deal, ensuring alignment on key details, the accuracy of incoming information and the terms of the final offer.
