Primary Function
Under the direction of the Diocesan and Cathedral Director of Liturgical Music, the singer is responsible for singing in the Schola for some Sunday services and diocesan liturgical celebrations. A schola member shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in personal life. "Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received."

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform as a lay minister in support of the parish’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
Abide by Catholic principles in the singer’s professional and private life, and govern both professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles.
Perform as a singer for the assigned musical events.
Maintain Church protocol, including maintaining an environment of respect and solemnity at all liturgical celebrations.
Maintain open communications with volunteer musicians.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical/Mental Requirements
Requires coordination and manual dexterity; normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal musical environment.

Required Activities
Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling, hearing; carrying; keyboarding.

Basic Qualifications

Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times.
Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance.
Ability to successfully pass a background and criminal history check.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in vocal music.

Other/Preferred Skills

Degree in Music.

Security Requirements
