JOB SUMMARYBay Area Music Project (BAMP) is excited to launch a new after-school program partnership with the Sausalito Marin City School District beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Working closely with the Site Coordinator, Teaching Artists, and program staff, Site Assistants help ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. RESPONSIBILITIESSupport daily student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.Supervise students during transitions, meals, recess, and program activities to ensure a safe and positive environment.Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.Build positive relationships with students and families and serve as a positive role model.Support student behavior and facilitate conflict resolution using restorative and positive youth development practices.Assist with enrichment activities, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises.Provide basic first aid and respond appropriately to student needs and emergencies.Communicate effectively with staff and participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HASCompleted or is working toward at least 6 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD), or a related field.Experience working with school-age youth in after-school programs, camps, classrooms, or similar settings, or a strong desire to learn.Knowledge of, or interest in, restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and positive youth development.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.The ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic environment.A collaborative mindset, sense of humor, and commitment to supporting all students.The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.REQUIREMENTSMust be at least 18 years of age.Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress), or equivalent experience working with children and youth.Must successfully pass Live Scan fingerprinting and provide proof of a negative TB test.Must be authorized to work in the United States.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Pay Range: $20-$22/hr, depending on experience.Paid Time Off: Accrued Sick Leave.Jury Duty Leave (up to two weeks).Health & Future: Medical and Dental Insurance available at 20+ hr/week.401(k) retirement (opt-in, unmatched)Instrument loans (as available).Paid professional development opportunities.WORKPLACE DEMANDS Work Hours - Part-time, hourly, with some responsibilities on weekends and/or evenings, depending on the program’s concert calendar Location - Exposed to changing conditions in indoor, outdoor, and virtual settings--including in school campuses, classrooms, libraries, offices, venues, parks, and other community spacesCleanliness & Odors - Clean to moderately clean; Occasionally works with children with varying access to hygiene support Social - Communicates with youth and adults in one-on-one, small groups, and large groups. with or without assistance; Can reliably report for work on time at job sites Light - Lighting is typically fluorescent or naturalNoise - Noise levels range from quiet to loud APPLICATIONInterested candidates must send the following to [email protected]: 1-page cover letter telling us why you’re a fit for this position uploaded as a PDF - please, no docx filesRequired: Resume (no more than two pages)For more information about Bay Area Music Project, please visit: www.bayareamusicproject.org As no one ever meets 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you feel that much of the role description matches your experience.
