Songwriter

The creative team is committed to collaborative artistry, innovative musical styles, and character-centered stories. The production aims to blend traditional musical theatre elements with modern influences to engage diverse audiences. Team members are encouraged to contribute ideas, experiment with form, and help shape the show as it moves from development to production. This is a full-time hybrid role with work-from-home flexibility, and occasional on-site collaboration on both coasts depending on production process, for rehearsals, readings, and production meetings. Strong skills in Music Composition and Music, with the ability to write melodically compelling and theatrically effective songs.Demonstrated experience as a Lyricist, crafting clear, character-driven Lyrics that support story and emotion.Working knowledge of Music Production, including creating demos or basic track arrangements to communicate song ideas.Experience writing for musical theatre Ability to collaborate closely with writers, directors, and performers, and to revise work based on feedback.Comfort working in a hybrid environment in New York and California, with availability for in-person rehearsals and meetings.Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a development and production schedule.Portfolio or samples of previous songwriting work required; prior professional or workshop credits in theatre are a plus.
