The Department of Music at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) is seeking to hire for a Special Appointment in Music. This full-time position will begin August 2025. This is a full-time, one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewals for a second and third year. Primary teaching duties will be in the area of music technology, including Introduction to Music Technology and upper-level courses in the music major and minor in Music, Technology, and Media. Minimum qualifications: - Earned master’s degree in music technology, composition, or a closely-related field; - Demonstrated potential as a high-quality instructor at the college level; - Demonstrated potential for creative activity (scholarship, performance, or composition) and professional activity in music; Preferred qualifications: - Earned doctorate or ABD status in music; - Experience as an instructor in music at the college level; - A track record of creative activity (scholarship, performance, or composition) and professional activity in music.
