Specialist, MusicThis position is for 10 hours per week during school hours.Position OverviewThe Specialist, Music instructs students in music theory, performance, and appreciation while integrating music with other academic disciplines and providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents through performances and programs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide weekly music instruction aligned with district curriculum.Develop engaging music lessons to encourage student participation and creativity.Collaborate with teachers to integrate music with classroom instruction.Prepare students for performances including concerts and school programs.Maintain musical instruments and audio equipment.Monitor students to ensure a safe learning environment.Prepare lesson plans, documentation, and program records.Organize and manage classroom materials and supplies.Promote music programs through performances and school events.Research and apply for grants to support music programs.Participate in meetings and professional development activities.Perform other related duties as assigned.Job Requirements – Minimum Qualifications SkillsPlanning and managing music instruction and performancesMaintaining program records and documentationKnowledgeMusic theory and appreciationStages of child developmentAbilitiesTeach music concepts to elementary studentsLead student performances and activitiesCommunicate effectively with students and staffResponsibilityWorks under direct supervision while coordinating music instruction and program activities.Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in classroom and performance environments.ExperienceMusic instruction experience desired.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Preferred EducationK-6 Music endorsement.FLSA StatusNon-Exempt#J-18808-Ljbffr
