Staff Singer

We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive community with an active presence in our city. The position of Staff Singer will be central to our 10 am worship service, especially as we move toward a weekly livestream in addition to live services. Ability to lead worship independently or collaboratively with other musicians Basic understanding of music theory to communicate with choir members Ability to help others learn music as needed in possible section rehearsals Experience leading worship services either as a soloist or ensemble member Must exhibit servant leadership, humility, cooperation, communication, time management, organizational and people skills The role is not voice type specific but singer must have the ability Responsibilities: Act as a soloist every Sunday per month leading worship and helping to familiarize the congregation to new hymns A section leader for a small, volunteer Adult choir four Sundays a month Sing with the volunteer adult choir for services with weekly rehearsals before Sunday services Must be available for additional services during Christmas and Easter. Prepare all repertoire before Sunday’s rehearsal and service. Weekly Time Expectations: Sunday Worship Service 2 hours (includes Rehearsal) Individual Prep Time 1 hour is allotted (additional time may be requested on a case-by-case basis) Meeting with Choir Director or Organist 1 hour Average weekly total up to 4 hours This position is accountable to the Pastor.
