We are also looking to deepen our bench of substitue Teaching Artists. After school and daytime hours available, 3 to 6 hours per week. Our programs operate on site at several Indianapolis area public schools. Pay rate is $60-$75 per hour and contracts include prep/setup time. Alignment with El Sistema Indianapolis mission, vision, and core values and willingness to embody those core values as a program ambassador.Strong teaching skills, with experience in music education or youth education and a commitment to equitable access to learning.Strong classroom management and behavior support skills.Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development for ensemble-based music instruction.Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and school partners in a collaborative environment.Ability to design and deliver engaging instruction that supports both musical growth and social-emotional development.Experience working with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and cultural responsiveness.Formal degree(s) in Music, Music Education, Education, or related fields preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
