Play to Learn follows the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts and Blueprint for Teaching & Learning in Music: to Create, Perform, Respond, and Connect. By the program’s end, students have tangible musical skills to share with their family and school community.Our Teaching Artists:Our Teaching Artists provide positive, engaging, multi-faceted, high-quality musical experiences that nurture the development of students’ musical and collaborative skills and creative abilities. Midori & Friends Teaching Artists are graduates of the country’s top conservatories and music education programs. Teaching Artists should have creative approaches to teaching music while integrating the Midori & Friends Milestones, and an ability to motivate and provide high-quality learning experiences for students of all backgrounds, abilities, and interests. All selected Teaching Artists must be fingerprinted with the New York City Department of Education and members of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802.
