The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking a Social & Digital Media Manager, a dynamic, creative, and fun individual responsible for leading strategy and content across all social platforms to drive engagement, grow audiences, and bring to life the human stories of The Cleveland Orchestra. Reporting to the Vice President of Content and Growth Initiatives and working across the organization, the ideal candidate will have a knowledge of and passion for classical music, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a talent for creating smart, compelling, and engaging content and stories that resonate with diverse audiences and positions the Orchestra at the forefront of social media in our industry. Position responsibilities include the following:Lead, refine, and execute the social media strategy for TCO across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others as appropriate.Ideate, create, and curate compelling multimedia content that brings to life the human stories of TCO (its musicians, guest artists, staff, community partners, etc.) both on- and off-stage.Manage the daily social and digital media content schedule across platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging.Connect the dots between TCO's digital media efforts on Adella (our digital home) and the social media strategy by developing a video-first social presence that enriches our storytelling and broadens our reachEngage with our community of followers, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner to foster a positive online community.Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns, track engagement, and optimize strategies based on data insights.Monitor trends and stay up to date with the latest tools and best practices to ensure content is fresh, relevant, and industry-leading.Collaborate with other internal departments, including Marketing, Education and Community Engagement, Venues and Events, Choruses, and Philanthropy and Advancement, to support and promote upcoming performances and special initiatives, and to support sponsorships and partnerships.Manage the Digital Media Coordinator and the hiring, workflow, and deliverables of external contractors as neededThe successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:A passion for storytelling and significant knowledge of classical music are necessarySignificant and proven experience in social and digital media management, preferably in performing arts organizationsBachelor's degree in music, marketing, communications, arts administration, or a related fieldProven track record of creating and executing successful social media campaignsDemonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead direct reportsStrong knowledge of social media platforms, analytics tools (such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Google Analytics), and content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc. )Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling and concise messagingStrong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesDemonstrated independent, mature judgmentAbility and willingness to work a flexible concert schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed, especially during performance seasonsWe offer a competitive salary of $70,000-$75,000, very generous medical and dental plan benefits, excellent paid time off program, 403(b) plan with employer match, hybrid remote/onsite work schedule, complimentary concert tickets, and the opportunity to work with a world-renowned Orchestra.
