For appointment, the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment (01/17/2025).Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.Demonstrated record of experience conducting wind band repertoire at the collegiate or professional level.Preferred Qualifications:Evidence of programming, teaching, and/or conducting new and contemporary repertoire, repertoire that reflects diverse musical traditions, music of underrepresented composers, and music utilizing non-traditional techniques.Demonstrated record of experience conducting and/or collaborating with orchestral programs to help create a full orchestral experience for students.Demonstrated experience in successful and collaborative student recruiting from a wide array of pools and approaches to benefit the department as a whole.Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring students majoring in Music Education.Evidence of successful teaching experience at the graduate level.Evidence of work in and/or commitment to community engagement and social justice.Duties:The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. They will actively collaborate with the other music areas to recruit students to the department as a whole.
