VCU Musician - Piano Accompanist

Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Department of Music is seeking a talented pianist to provide musical accompaniment for our Musical Theatre classes. As a Theatre Accompanist, you will play piano for classes, rehearsals, auditions, and performances, working closely with students and faculty. Responsibilities include: • Playing piano for classes, rehearsals, auditions, and performances • Working closely with students and faculty, relating well to students • Performing other related duties as assigned To be successful in this role, you will need: • One year of experience playing for Musical Theatre classes at the collegiate, professional, or pre-professional level • Ability to sight-read provided music and improvise in various styles as needed • Prior experience working with singers • Working knowledge of musical theatre repertoire • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
