Vocal Director

The Upper Moreland Township School District is an educational institution working in partnership with the community to provide all students with educational opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, behaviors, and habits of mind necessary for excellence and success as critical thinkers, as caring and confident individuals, and as contributing members of society. This role requires proficiency in using technology to enhance music education and the capability to work with vocal students of all skill levels. Planning Stages • Meet with the Show Director with a script and score to understand his/her concept for: • Vocal performances • Potential cuts in music • Rehearsal Calendar with the cast • Set up a rehearsal calendar for the singers and coordinate with the Director, Accompanist, Choreographer and Orchestra Conductor. • Conduct cast vocal warm-ups prior to each rehearsal and performance or arrange for a cast member to do that. • Decide if any key changes need to be made and with approval from the Show Director, have the Orchestra Conductor make the needed changes to the music.
